On Saturday 23rd September Darragh Crowley received the prestigious Naughton Scholarship in Trinity College Dublin. This scholarship is for students who excel in the Leaving Cert STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths). Darragh achieved the highest possible grades in his STEM subjects and was one of 36 students in Ireland to become a Naughton Scholar. Darragh was presented with his award by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar. Darragh was accompanied by his parents, John and Ann, and his sisters Aine and Nessa, along with his teachers Alan Sheehy (Physics) and Kathleen Dwyer (Chemistry). Darragh is now studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering in UCC. Well done Darragh and we wish you the very best in your future studies. The senior ladies team had a great start in the first round of the Munster post primary championship. The first match of the year was against Regina Mundi College, Ballinlough. Scoil Phobail Bhéara came away winners with a full time score of 4-10 to 1-6. Best wishes to the ladies in their upcoming games.
We are excited to participate in National Fitness Day on Friday 29th of September 2017. It will be the biggest and most visible celebration of physical activity of the year. It is a day to celebrate the role that physical activity plays across Ireland.
