Our School
Scoil Phobail Bhéara opened in 1980 as a result of an amalgamation between Meán Scoil Naomh lósaf, run by the Mercy Sisters, and Castletownbere Vocational School, run by Cork VEC (now Cork Education and Training Board). The school has continued to grow, develop and improve over past years.
It is a mixed ability school and we use a variety of teaching methodologies to enhance teaching and learning. There is a whole school focus on building learning habits and restorative practice. We recognise the importance of partnership between home and school and the need to encourage the student voice. We give every opportunity to each student to reach his or her full potential. We are at the heart of our community. Scoil Phobail Bhéara is a Health Promoting School.

Our Motto
"Ní neart go cur le chéile" / "Strength in unity"
The power of a team pulling together, working for the same goal, striving to reach a common destination, is far greater than the sum of its parts. Teachers, parents, students, Board of Management and community, all striving for the same goal: provision of excellence.
