The Junior Certificate School Programme is a national programme sponsored by the Department of Education and Science and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. Currently the programme is operating in over 240 schools throughout the country.
The Junior Certificate School Programme aims to provide a curriculum framework that assists schools and teachers in making the Junior Certificate more accessible to young people. It attempts to help young people experience success and develop a positive self-image by providing a curriculum and assessment framework suitable to their needs. On completion of the programme students receive a profile which is a official record of their achievements from the Department of Education and Science.

Transition Year
The aim of the TY Programme is to give students opportunities to discover and develop their individual gifts and strengths, to become more independent and to experience a year where the emphasis will be on cultivating individual responsibility for study and self directed work.
The programme aims also to encourage the development of thinking, caring, articulate and self confident people.
Students will be helped to discover individual talents, aptitudes and abilites, understand their own educational needs and develop those skills and competences necessary to cope successfully with their particular stage of development.
