​Transition Year
​

Transition Year is an optional one year programme at Scoil Phobail Bhéara. 
Its objectives are to:
  • Facilitate a smooth transition between Junior and Senior Cycle
  • Encourage personal and social development
  • Recognise the need for students to grow in independence
  • Foster academic achievement
  • Help students prepare for Leaving Cert and working life

Assessment
Assessment is continuous throughout the year and students build up a portfolio of completed work. A portfolio assessment takes place at the end of the year on which they are graded. Students are issued a Certificate by the school and the Department of Education. A Graduation ceremony for students and parents take place in late May.
