Beara Students Work Published

Fourteen students from Scoil Phobail Bhéara attended the launch of Southern Words - Go West in the West Cork Education Centre in Dunmanway on March 6th. Vikki O'Sullivan, Killian Power, Katie McCarthy, Finbarr O'Donovan, Dominic Kjelsen, Michael Murphy, Ciarán Murphy, Rachel O'Shea, Owen Power, Niamh Doherty, Ultan O'Shea, Olivia Harrington, Renee Waschkowitz and Michael O'Sullivan- are all third year students. The work of these students was selected for publication in the book which also features work from other participating schools in the Author in Residence initiative. The students completed Creative Writing Workshops with poet Kathy D'Arcy which was funded by the Junior Certificate School Programme and the Parents Association. Also attending the launch were Clodagh O'Driscoll, English teacher and Antoinette O'Callaghan, JCSP Co-ordinator in Scoil Phobail Bhéara.
